Announcing Spirits of Mexico, which is taking place at the Plaza del Pasado’s Cantina De Reyes. The Spirits of Mexico event hosted in September 2004 was attended by over 400 agave enthusiasts and raised more than $2,500 for the Sky Ranch Foundation via a Silent Auction. A rare bottling of Reserva de Don Julio Reposado, set in a cradle in the form of an Agave plant, which fetched $1,000, was generously donated by Phillip Soto Mares, Catador and President of Tequila El Duende de Don Felipe www.elduendetequila.com. Tequila Hijos de Villa Rifle, donated by Sergio Javier Tomez, Herradura Seleccion Suprema from Sazerac, Pechuga Mezcal from Del Maguey, and special bottlings and gift baskets from Agave de Plata’s Penca Azul, California Tequila’s Asom Broso, Caballeros Inc’s Scorpion & Embajador., Agave Inc’s El Amo, Poco Tequila’s Don Max, Voodoo Tiki Tequila and others helped to reach this unprecedented amount. Synopsis
Invited Guests and Press will begin arriving at 5:30PM. The event will end at 9:30PM.

Throughout the evening, industry professionals will be on-hand to educate the consumer. Phillip Soto Mares, Catador Oficial de La Academia Mexicana del Tequila, A.C., will be hosting 15 minute seminars on agave spirits, on behalf of the distinguished Tequila Academy. Invited guests include Dale DeGroff, Author, Craft of the Cocktail & President, Museum of the American Cocktail, Gary Regan of Ardent Spirits, Robert Plotkin of BarMedia, Author of !Toma. Margarita!, Jerald O'Kennard of the BTI and a host of Master Distillers and others.
